As we enter a new year, with it comes a new set of forecasts for the bar world in the next 12 months.
Let’s break down a few trends we can expect to see in 2022:
Lemme Upgrade Ya-
Premium cocktails are on the rise, as “well” or bottom shelf drinks are slowly becoming a thing of the past. People seem to be trending toward nicer, higher rated alcohols of all types (gin, vodka, whiskey and those of the like).
Easy Breezy-
Convenience is something we’ve all been focusing on, especially during the pandemic. Many of us have spent a lot of time indoors the last 2 years and have grown accustom to “to-go” drinks and deliverable alcohol. The trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, after-all there is something to be said about not having to leave your house for a relaxing drink.
Throw it Back-
Vintage cocktails seem to be making a comeback in 2022. So toss aside your Paloma’s, Espresso Martini’s are the new (old?) rage.
Sustainability-
Paper and plastic disposable materials are quickly becoming the “not cool” thing to do. Moving into 2022, we’ll see even more plastic alternatives, like bamboo, and steel straws. You may even notice more people bringing their own steel straws (like bringing your own bag to the grocery store) into establishments.
